Genaro Diaz Lozano left Mexico City in the late 90’s with a law degree, a family history in real estate and a desire to live better, with more meaning. At this time, Mexico City was one of the most polluted places on earth and he struggled to understand how the problem became so large and nothing had been done to sustain the ecosystem. It was then he chose to live better and make a difference in the world.
As Founder and CEO, Genaro oversees the originations, acquisitions and operations of GDL Investment Group LLC and GreenWater Investments portfolios, as well as assembling the management teams. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and multi-family real estate.
They have successfully transformed predominately Hispanic areas struggling with safety concerns, into dignified communities where children and families thrive by providing safe housing that offers modern amenities, free activities, lush landscaping and superior customer service.
Genaro strives to empower people to live with dignity and to create happier societies where kids play outside, spend time with their families and feel connected to nature.
He has always believed in the power of impact investing and that the pursuit of making profit can simultaneously align with fulfilling a higher purpose. He seeks to connect with likeminded investors who are passionate about making a difference.
